Sherrie Shepherd was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1958 and moved to Arkansas in 1962. Shepherd attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and graduated with a BA degree in Art.
From
1986 to 1996, Shepherd drew a syndicated cartoon strip called FRANCIE
about a single mother. FRANCIE appeared in the United States
and abroad for ten years. Other cartoons by Shepherd have also
appeared in magazines such as: New Woman, Cosmopolitan, Medical
Economics, Complete Woman, Ladies Home Journal, Ebony and
Saturday Evening Post. Her cartoons have been published in several books,
Mothers and Daughters,
Playing By The Rules, and Life's a Stitch.
Shepherd is an accomplished Cartoonist and
Illustrator. She is named in "Who's Who of American Cartoonists".
